Frank’s Coffee SA was founded in 2020 by Julian La Starza. After having spent almost a decade as a barista, he decided it was time to take his passion and skill set to the next level and go out on his own.

To celebrate his Italian heritage, Julian felt the business should be appropriately named ‘Frank’s Coffee’ as a living tribute to his Nonno, Francesco (Frank) Mercorella. The name, as well as the business’ ethos, is a testament to the character and strong values that his beloved Nonno is known and respected for.

In attempt to keep Frank’s close to home (literally), Julian began serving coffee from the garage of his own home before moving on to a new location at St Bernard’s Fruit & Veg. With the help of local legend, John Kapiris, Frank’s Coffee began building the foundation for its first permanent coffee spot.

Entering 2021, Julian partnered with his best friend, Giuliano, to form Frank’s Coffee SA. Giuliano also brings years of experience in hospitality and is fanatical about customer service and connection, as well as a ensuring a humble and authentic approach to business.

Frank’s Coffee SA has since taken hold of new opportunities and is now located at The Glenunga Hub – 70 Conyngham Street, Glenunga SA 5064.

The boys aim to make the best coffee available to all South Australians whenever, wherever. Thus, in addition to their fixed location in Glenunga, Frank’s Coffee SA offers mobile coffee cart services to suit all types of functions and events.
